About Anna

Anna Lofgren is 19 years old, the sixth of seven children. She was home educated all the way through high school graduation. After a year at Belhaven College in MS, she is returning home to continue her education through distance learning, local classes and lessons, and independent study. She is excited about the opportunity to teach again!

She's always been dancing around the house. When she was five or six, she began to be a part of a worship dance group, that mainly used sign language. She wanted to take ballet for quite a while, and finally, at 11 years of age, she got the opportunity. She took praise dance from Danette Ellis for 5 years. When she was 13, she started pointe, taking from Lisa Johnson and Barbara Bloomquist for 2 1/2 years. She attended Ballet Magnficat's Summer Dance Intensive in the summers of 2006 and 2007. She took classical ballet technique and pointe from C.J. Martin in 2006-2008. She took classical ballet technique and modern dance technique at Belhaven College, where she also received theatre training while majoring in Theatre Ministry.

She helped teach a younger girls' dance class for a little more than a year in 2002-2003 with Danette Ellis. In the summers of 2005, she directed Esther-Ordinary Faith, written by Kathie Hill, which involved choreographing and teaching simple dances.  In September of 2006, she started The King's Praise Ballet, teaching dance classes of her own. In the summer of 2007, she produced Ruth: From Rejection to Redemption, writing the script, directing and choreographing and teaching the dances. In December 2007, she produced Mary: Chosen by God, writing the script, and directing. She also choreographed and taught the dances to students of The King's Praise Ballet, incorporating her classes of dancers into the musical. In the summer of 2008, she choreographed and directed Fat Fat Jehoshaphat, written by Kathie Hill.

She taught The King's Praise Ballet for 2 years, from the fall of 2006 through the summer of 2008. Classes were stopped the fall of 2008 through the spring of 2009 while she attended a year of college in Mississippi. However, God has led her to return home and begin teaching again. She is excited to see what God has in store!

She finds it a joy to teach girls to praise God using the art of ballet!
