Bun-making Tutorial

Materials needed:

• A hairbrush and/or comb
• Hair spray
• Elastic hair bands
• Bobby pins
• 1 hair net (like this, also available in small packets at Walmart)
• 1 dance hair piece or scrunchie

Step 1 Brush/comb through hair and pull back into a ponytail at comfortable place on the head.



Step 2 Pull ponytail up and wrap around elastic hair band in center, keeping bun fairly flat as you go.



Step 3 Tuck end of ponytail under and secure with another elastic hair band, doubled around bun. Hold on to bun to keep it flat.



Step 4 Wrap hair net around bun twice.



Step 5 Tuck hair net ends around bun. Hold bun flat as you put in bobby pins around the bun, poking them through bun and into hair underneath bun. (*Warning!* Be careful - sticking her in the head with end of bobby pin could provoke an outburst!)



Step 6 Put in as many bobby pins as necessary to make bun secure. Having her shake her head will help determine whether the bun is secure - you don't want it too wobbly.



Step 7 Put dance hair piece or scrunchie around bun, doubling it if need be.



Step 8 Spray generously with hair spray.
