Special Dates for 2010-2011
Schedule
Anna has the right to add to or make changes in the schedule as needed. Dates and details could be changed, and new ones added, so please keep up-to-date with each month’s newsletter.
Fall Semester
October 11th and 13th – Goal Sheets
- Students in Ballet II, III, & IV must turn in a completed goal sheet for the semester.
- Miss Anna will return the sheet with feedback to give motivation and encouragement.
October 17th, 18th & 20th – Fun Ballet Attire Day!
- Students are welcome to wear leotards, skirts (or dresses), and/or tights of different colors/patterns. Whatever is worn must be easy to dance in.
- Please follow modesty guidelines and still wear proper ballet shoes.
October 31st, November 1st & 3rd – Parent Observation Day
- Parents, quiet siblings, and guests are welcome to sit in on your student’s class.
- You are welcome to take pictures/video if you wish. Videotaping the class dance(s) so your daughter(s) can practice at home is encouraged.
November 21st, 22nd & 24th (week of Thanksgiving) – Classes Cancelled
December 5th onward – Regular Classes Cancelled
- Regular class times are cancelled, as we have a new schedule for the two weeks before the Christmas production
Monday & Tuesday, December 5th & 6th – Combined classes and Costume Take-home
Some classes will be combined, for one last practice and refining of dances; costumes will be checked out to borrow for the Christmas presentation
Monday (5th):
- Ballet II & III – 3:00-4:15 PM
- Wee Ballet 2 - 4:15-5:00 PM
- Ballet I/B – 5:00-6:15 PM
Tuesday (6th):
- Wee Ballet 3 – 2:15-3:00 PM
- Basic Ballet 1 & 2 – 3:00-4:00 PM
- Wee Ballet 1 – 4:00-4:45 PM
- Ballet I/A - 4:20-5:30 PM (overlapping 2 classes)
- Ballet IV – 4:45-6:00 PM
Thursday, December 8th – Christmas Presentation at nursing home
- For classes Wee 1, Wee 3, Basic 1, Basic 2, Ballet I/A, Ballet II, & Ballet IV
- We'll dance at Charlton Place in Deatsville, AL
- Be there and dressed no later than 2:45 PM, so that we can dance at 3:00 PM
- Directions and more info will follow closer to the time.
Monday, December 12th – Christmas Presentation at nursing home
- For classes Wee 2, Ballet I/B, Ballet III, and Ballet IV
- We'll dance at Merry Wood Lodge in Elmore, AL
- Be there and dressed no later than 3:15 PM, so that we can dance at 3:30 PM
- Directions and more info will follow closer to the time.
Thursday, December 15th – “The Coming King” Dress Rehearsal
- At Hunter Hills Church at 330 Old Farm Lane North in Prattville (near PCA)
- Dancers must be dressed and ready and sitting down in assigned place by 3:30 PM; we’ll take class pictures, practice the finale, and have reminders
- Full run through – 4:30-6:00 PM
Friday, December 16th at 7 PM – “The Coming King” Presentation
- At Hunter Hills Church
- Must be dressed and ready at by 6:30 PM
Saturday, December 18th at 4 PM – “The Coming King” Presentation
- At Hunter Hills Church
- Must be dressed and ready at by 3:30 PM
- After the presentation, everyone must change out of costumes and check them back in to return to The King’s Courts
Spring Semester
January 9th, 10th, & 12th – Regular classes resume; $25/student costume deposit due
- You may combine the costume deposit with the tuition check or pay separately.
- If paying the deposit at this time is a financial hardship, please talk to me.
- Parents are invited to come in at the beginning of your daughter’s class to see pictures of the costume(s) and hear songs chosen for their spring dances.
February 6th, 7th & 9th – Goal Sheets
- Students in Ballet I, II, III, & IV must turn in a completed goal sheet for the semester

February 13th, 14th & 16th – Fun Ballet Attire Day!

*Note: a week’s worth of classes may be cancelled in February or March, to allow me to go and help my sister in Ohio after the birth of her 2nd baby! You’ll be notified via email, with at least a week’s worth notice.*
March 26th, 27th & 29th – Parent Observation Day

April 16th, 17th, & 19th – Picture Day
- During regular class time, individual and class photos will be taken.
- Taking pictures now will save time at the dress rehearsal!
- Students will come dressed in costume, take pictures, and then practice their dances in costume
- It is important that everyone be here to share in these memories!
- Picture discs with the digital pictures in various sizes can be ordered for $5. I won’t be printing pictures for you this year, but you can print your own from the disc.
April 30th and onward – Regular Classes Canceled
- Regular class times are canceled, as we have a new schedule for the two weeks before the recital
Monday, April 30th & Tuesday, May 1st – Combined classes
- Some classes will be combined, for one last practice and refining of dances
- A schedule of when each class should come will be given in the spring, since it depends on if classes dance with each other.
Thursday, May 3rd (tentative) – Dance presentation at nursing home
- We’ll share at a nursing home in the community
- Half of the classes will share at this nursing home, and half at the next one
- Directions and time and more info will follow.
Monday, May 7th (tentative) – Dance presentation at nursing home
- We’ll share at a nursing home in the community
- Half of the classes will share at this nursing home, and half at the previous one

Thursday, May 10th – Dress Rehearsal for “Unchanging”
- Location TBA, starting (tentatively) at 3:30 PM
Friday, May 11th – “Unchanging: Celebrating Our Savior” - End-of-the-Year Recital
- Location TBA, presentation time (tentatively) at 7 PM
Saturday, May 12th – “Unchanging: Celebrating our Savior” - End-of-the-Year Recital
- Location TBA, presentation time (tentatively) at 4 PM
Other dates will be added before and/or after the recital, if we dance at churches, nursing homes, or events in the community. Please write all of the dates/times in each month’s newsletter on your calendar to stay on schedule! Info in newsletters may change info from here.
